“Re-framing Our Lived Experience – Transforming Trauma”, Episode #83
Just about everyone has experienced trauma in their life. Some traumas are what might be called relatively minor, others can be horrendous, and there are many degrees of trauma in between. Each of us deals with our trauma in different ways. Some people are able to process their trauma and work it through more easily than others. Some find it easier to talk about their trauma than others do. Each person’s journey through their trauma is different. As today’s guest says: “Most of healing from trauma is an inside job.”
I’ve been wanting to do some episodes about trauma because I have seen that trauma can result from conflict, and trauma can also be the cause of conflict. I think the latter often happens because a traumatized person’s need for empathy may exceed another person’s capacity to empathize, which can cause pain and frustration for both, and because of how hard it can be to talk about our trauma, which can make it more difficult for others to understand and empathize.
Joining me today is Greg Wieting, founder of PRISMA – a framework overlaying trauma, neuroscience, and energy medicine with somatic and mindfulness-based practices, to talk about how we can transform our trauma, see our lived experience with new awareness and wisdom, and use these to build stronger, healthier relationships with ourselves and others.
Greg Wieting helps you heal the anxiety, depression, chronic pain and trauma you can’t think or talk your way out of. He developed PRISMA while healing his own anxiety, depression, and chronic pain rooted in trauma. This included unraveling a severe spinal curvature and standing three inches taller today!
Over the last two decades, Greg has helped thousands heal through his one-on-one practice and has certified hundreds of healthcare professionals in his methodology. His new online course and community now make healing practical and accessible to all.
